FMLA Compliance Doesn’t End When Leave Does

Strong leave management requires more than FMLA compliance. It requires consistent, well-documented decision-making before, during, and after an employee’s leave.

An FMLA retaliation claim was allowed to move forward after an employer could not clearly explain why an employee who recently returned from protected leave was terminated while a similarly situated employee was retained. The lack of objective criteria, inconsistencies surrounding the reduction in force, and timing of the termination all raised questions about the employer’s decision-making.

ConnectBridge helps organizations maintain consistent leave processes and clear documentation throughout the leave lifecycle, helping HR teams navigate complex situations with greater confidence.
